We stripped a traditional Taipa house, that was built a hundred years ago, down to the walls, and employing old and modern techniques with primarily natural materials, and a great deal of valuable wo/men power, we made it into 2 renovated flats, that combine the comfort of modern world with the wisdom of the old ways.
It all came to life with the help of dozens of volunteers, friends, workers, and the fantastic group of the natural building workshop.
So now we are offering these two magical units to guests, workshop participants, healing patients, and visionaries who wish to co-create SoLua – prices are 50-70 euros per night (depending on the session)
From The Moon – the Eastern unit, you can watch the moon rising, where The Sun unit is overlooking beautiful sunsets to the West.
Each house includes a fully equipped kitchen; a comfortable sitting area with a wood stove for the cool nights of Alentejo; a bedroom with a double bed, a closet, and a mezzanine for a third guest or a cozy reading nook under the skylite; and a bathroom with a unique watering system to save water. In the front there’s a pergola with a hammock and a sitting area overlooking our forest. Both houses have strong wifi internet connection.
